Cat City Grill in Fort Worth, Texas

Cat City Grill, Fort Worth

After a weekend of running 10k’s and half marathons at the Cowtown in Fort Worth, our friends and ourselves were in the mood for a hearty brunch.  Where better to go than Cat City Grill off Magnolia in Fort Worth?  Our friends introduced us to this unique dining spot about a year ago, and we have been hooked ever since.

Cat City Grill is a small, casual restaurant with about twenty tables in the main dining area, a private dining room, and a few patio tables outside. As you walk in you immediately see the kitchen on the back wall and the bar that sits to the right.

The first time we dined at Cat City was for dinner and we dined inside.  We opted to sit outside on the patio for our brunch.

Brunch Menu

The brunch offers a small selection of benedict’s, omelette’s, and specialty dishes.  We shared the Sweet and Savory Crepes for an appetizer.  A trio of crepes including a ham and brie with béarnaise, wild mushroom, and peanut butter and bananas.  I was most excited about the peanut butter and banana, but it was really sweet and rich.  Would have made a wonderful dessert.

Craving Egg’s Benedict as usual, I ordered the Crab Benedict.  It was a perfectly toasted English Muffin, topped with grilled Canadian Bacon, a homemade crab mixture, poached eggs, and hollandaise sauce.  If you recall a previous post of mine, I mentioned I do not like poached eggs.  However, this particular morning, I was feeling adventurous.  I had a good feeling about ordering poached eggs at Cat City, because I knew they would not over-cook or under-cook them.  I was right!  For the first time in my life I ate poached eggs and ENJOYED them.

The meal was complimented with $2 Bloody Mary’s and Mimosa’s.

We plan on enjoying brunch at Cat City Grill again.

  1. Dear Sassy,

I wanted to add a little clarity to your post; Yes I do own Lili’s but I no longer own Cat City Grill. My former partner, Martin Thompson, is now the sole owner of Cat City Grill. We at Lili’s wish Martin well and still pride ourselves in our efforts to concieve the Cat City concept and it’s success and awards in it’s first year.

    • Vance, Thank you so much for the clarification. I was not aware that you were not the owner of Cat City anymore, and I hate to write things that are not true. We love both restaurants and you can guarantee that my husband and I will be dining at Lili’s often.
      Thanks!
