I have definitely had more than 10 bottles of wine since I first started the Cheap-Vine Wine Series many months ago, but I choose to only write about certain ones. I choose those bottles that are intriguing! I consider the label, the wine itself, and of course the price.
Finally, I have reached bottle #10:
Line 39 Cabernet Sauvignon 2008 Lake County
Lake County is a region in California just north of Sonoma and Napa Valley. The 39th parallel just so happens to run through the Lake County region, hence the name Line 39.
This excellent wine growing region gives way to a highly sophisticated wine for the price. Blackberry is a predominant characteristic of Line 39 wines. The 2008 vintage is laced with hints of Strawberry as well. The ripe berry flavors are balanced by small hints of black pepper; giving you a lighter Cabernet Sauvignon.
While I would not recommend this wine for a weekend celebration, it is a great weekday sipping wine to help you relax after a long day at work. Funny enough, after consuming it and planning on adding it to the Cheap-Vine Wine Series, I found out that some family members had tried the wine and have been enjoying it as well. So if my advice is not good enough for you, know that I am not the only one who likes it!
Cheers!
