His & Hers

When you hear the saying ‘His & Hers’ what comes to your mind?  I typically think of weddings, and ugly bath towels with your names on them.  Ugh! That is not a romantic ideal.  Here in the SassyWriter household ‘His & Hers’ refers to our beverage selections.  When it comes to wine we enjoy the same, but today I am talking BEER!

When Spring finally pokes it beautiful head out of the bone-chilling winter gloom, I want to be outside all-day-every-day. Now since “I am outdoorsy in that I like getting drunk on patios,” being outside=delicious beverage!  (I despise bugs so a beverage keeps my mind off of those pesky creatures that try to attack me).

White wine…red wine…gin…beer!  Does not really matter what the beverage is, I enjoy it.  It means a deeper state of relaxation and happiness; which is needed after the stressful months of the new year.

This particular evening the husband and I both favored a cold beer, but very different ones…

Victory Summer Love & Great Divide Colette

‘His’= Victory Summer Love Ale= Light, refreshing, and noble hopped.  The hubs loves the taste, I only love the label.  Victory portrays all the wonderful elements of summer in this slightly bitter bottle: swimming, fishing, kiting, camping, boating, baseball, ice cream, grilling, and fireworks; such a lovely label.

‘Hers’= Great Divide Colette Farmhouse Ale= Like a Saison being lightly fruity and tart, with a dry refreshing finish.  I very much so enjoy Saison’s but they are not very prevalent in the stores.  Also, we LOVE the name Colette.  If and when we decide to talk about having kids (not even a discussion right now, NO) we would want to name a little girl Colette!

Two very different beers, not towels, otherwise known as ‘His & Hers.’
