Ever since we moved into our house over three years ago, we have been passing out candy to the trick-or-treaters on Halloween. We always thought it would be great to get to partake in the festivities like we did as a kid. The first year we moved into the house, the neighborhood was not fully developed, so we only got a handful of trick-or-treaters. But, with each year that has gone by, we have had more trick-or-treaters than the last.
This year we have stocked-up on the candy (except for the few pieces that we couldn’t stop ourselves from eating), and we are ready to have friends over to help pass it out.
Of course we need to feed our guests, but what should we eat that is quick and easy to cook on Halloween? To end the month of October we plan on preparing a traditional German Oktoberfest Feast: beer-braised turkey bratwurst, cabbage slaw, bacon mustard spaetzle, and pickles. Of course we will drink some beers on the front porch while passing out candy.
After having self-control and not eating the candy all night long, we will have mini pumpkin cheesecakes for dinner. It should be a great, relaxing, mid-week Halloween celebration.

The pumpkin cheesecakes look divine! Have fun!
